Dunes Course
Upon opening in1985, the Dunes Course became the top public golf destination in Colorado, and also the most recognized and decorated public course in the state. With many of the holes patterned after the legendary courses in Scotland and Ireland, this links style course designed by renowned architects Pete and Perry Dye is unique to the area.
The Dunes has hosted more prestigious events than any other public course in the region. Among these are the 1993 USGA Public Links championship, the 1996 & 1997 Nike Tour Colorado Classic, numerous amateur and professional state championships, and many state and national event qualifiers. In September of 2005 the Dunes hosted the Colorado PGA Section Championship.
The Dunes has also been voted as the #1 public golf course in the state 19 of the past 20 years by Colorado golf Magazine. It was voted the 2nd best new course in the United States by Golf Digest in 1986, was recognized as one of the best 75 public courses in America by Golf Digest, and was on Golf Magazine’s list of the best 50 courses in America under $50.
