Description
Step Denver is a men's residential recovery community helping low-income men overcome the consequences of addiction and rebuild their lives through sobriety, work and accountability. The ultimate goal of the Step Denver program is to have its residents transition to safe, sober living environments where they may become productive, contributing members of their communities.
All residents shall remain free of all mind-altering substances at Step Denver. We believe that sobriety is the foundation upon which all other facets of life may be rebuilt. A person who is not abstinent and working a program of recovery will inevitably be unsuccessful in other areas – work, family, friends, finances, legal and/or personal health issues.
Step Denver believes in ‘Work Works' – the philosophy that effort, in all facets of one's life including gainful employment, is the foundation for success. The dignity and sense of accomplishment that comes with the effort required of work is fundamental to rebuilding and maintaining an individual's self-respect.
Having personal responsibility as a cornerstone, residents of the Step Denver program are not permitted to take third-party or government financial assistance. The men may not receive any compensation from their families, friends, or religious organizations, and can also not receive any governmental stipends such as food stamps, welfare, disability or vouchers. The residents are required to be accountable for their own financial obligatio
