Arvada is a beautifully laid out, planned community that lies to the northwest of Denver; Old Town Arvada is just seven miles from the Colorado State Capital. With a small town feel that interweaves quiet neighborhoods into a historical past, this is a very desirous place to live. The city is built around the Old Town Arvada downtown area. Here, the historical landmarks have been preserved, complete with cobblestone walkways, while, new shops and restaurants have been incorporated into the area. While there are over 90 parks and 60 miles of trails, the city offers some unusual activities. In addition to the 3 city golf courses, there are 2 disc golf courses, a skateboard and a dog park. The Apex Center is a state of the art recreation center that features 2 ice rinks, pools, and a rock climbing wall. Culture in Arvada has not been left out. There is the Arvada Center which offers a year round theater, concerts, a museum, and art exhibitions. The Majestic View Nature Center is 80 acres of undisturbed environment that interactively teaches the nature and historical culture of the area. There is no shortage of scheduled activities in Arvada either. With 9 festivals scheduled throughout the year, there is always something going on.
